Fire hits village storage facility in Valenzuela

A fire broke out in a storage facility at Teachers Village in Barangay Gen. T De Leon in Valenzuela City on Monday.

FO1 Clarita Isabel Catangui of the Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP) said they received the call informing them of the fire at 1:18 p.m.

Inspector Sonny Cañosa raised first alarm at 1:20 p.m. Two minutes later the second alarm was called and it was raised to third alarm at 1:54 p.m.

The fire was declared out at 4:55 p.m. and the damage was estimated at more or less P3 million, Catangui said. There were no casualties.

The BFP is still looking into the cause of the fire and said it will conduct a follow-up investigation on Tuesday.

“Wala pa po, hindi po namin napasok kasi mainit pa saka mausok po, bukas po may follow-up kami (We don’t have any leads yet, we were not able to enter the facility because of the smoke. We will conduct a follow-up investigation tomorrow),” Catangui told INQUIRER.net. /ee
